NOT CONTENT is a year-long series of text projects (in three parts) curated by Les Figues Press at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE). The series investigates the ways in which language functions within public and private spheres and within the tenuous and transitory space between these real and imagined realms.
Part one of NOT CONTENT focused on witnessing, extreme trauma, and the ethical place of the writer; part two was concerned with liminality, asking questions such as: What is a space? What is reading? How do we construct a field? Part three explored what happens when text becomes immaterial and narratives act as curated experiences.
